Whole Foods – Cherry Pie Test

For this test, I wanted to see the effect of having a single slice of cherry pie would do to my keytone and glucose levels. This was not a very big slice of cherry pie, but the effects were much larger than I expected!

Here is the slice of pie:

Test Results

Date Time Glucose (mg/dl) Keytone Dr Boz Ratio Comments
12/13/2019 6:00am 101 0.8 126.25 Woke up, glucose a bit high, so waited before having the pie, continued to fast

12:30pm 203 0.9 225.66 1 hour after pie
1:30pm 110 1.3 366.66 2 hrs after pie
2:30pm 79 0.8 98 3 hrs after pie, glucose drops below pre-test level
3:30pm 61 low 4 hrs after pie, no keytones, and lower glucose
4:30pm 71 1.4 50.71 5 hrs keytones recovered, boz ratio finally recovered

Conclusion

  • From these results, I see it took my body  around 5hrs to recover from eating just a single slice of cherry pie!
  • The effect was much larger than I expected, and lasted longer than I expected.
  • The spike in glucose level was higher than that of the Halloween Chocolate Bar Test – Don’t try this alone!!
