Rain Forest Cafe Fish and Chips

For this test, we went to the Rain Forest Cafe in Las Vegas. For the meal I chose the Fish and Chips, and for desert, we had “the Volcano” which is a large ice cream and cake desert. I shared the desert with my daughter and wife (I did not eat the whole thing).

Test Results

Date Time Glucose (mg/dl) HCT % Hb g/dl Keytone Dr Boz Ratio GKI Comments
9/1/2019 1:45pm 87 37 12.5 1.4 62 3.45 Before meal
  6:20pm 128 37 12.5 0.5 256 12.22 2 hrs after meal
9/2/2019 7:00am 97 34 11.5 0.6 161 8.98 15 hrs after meal

I had as expected the high glucose spike from this meal, similar to the Rock Bottoms Fish and Chips test, but the recovery took longer. By the following morning my glucose level was still high, and keytones were still low.

Ratios

For this test, the Dr Boz ratio started a bit high, but then jumped to 256. And but the following morning, I had not recovered to get into a health autophagy range.

The GKI rage started in a good range, and recovered to just a low level of Ketosis.

Additional Comments

for this test, I forced myself to eat as much of the desert as possible. While trying to finish the Volcano, I found I really could not. I was expecting the desert to have a more significant effect on the duration I was out of Ketosis. This did not seem to happen if I compare it with the Rock Bottoms Fish and Chips test

Conclusion

I was glad to see the desert did not do as much damage to my metabolism as I had feared. I think after such a meal, if I had skipped breakfast the following day I would have been fully recovered.
